Stouffville Activities
Founded in 1804 by Abraham Stouffer, the hamlet was originally named Stouffeville. Stouffer built a sawmill and grist-mill on the banks of Duffin’s Creek in the 1820s. The community name was shortened to Stouffville when its first post office opened in 1832.
In 1877, Stouffville became an incorporated village. On January 1, 1971, the Village of Stouffville amalgamated with Whitchurch Township and was designated a community within the larger town of Whitchurch–Stouffville; with amalgamation, the boundary of the town was also moved four farm lots south of the original boundary of Main Street (the land was formerly a part of Markham Township). The population of urban Stouffville in 1971 was 5,036.
In 2003, a large 16th-century Huron village was discovered in Stouffville during land development; approximately 2000 people once inhabited the site (Mantle Site), which included a palisade and more than 80 longhouses, yielding tens of thousands of artifacts.

🍖 Stouffville Ribfest 2026 — August 7–9
Dates: Friday August 7 – Sunday August 9, 2026
Hours: Fri 4–10 PM · Sat 12–10 PM · Sun 12–7 PM
Location: Memorial Park, 2 Park Drive, Stouffville
Cost: FREE admission
Stouffville's signature summer festival — three days of award-winning rib teams, craft breweries, food trucks, a kids zone, rides, marketplace vendors, and free live concerts. JUNO Award-winner Rêve headlines Saturday August 8. One of Ontario's Top 100 Festivals drawing 50,000+ visitors. Overflow parking at local schools — arrive early on Saturday.
🚗 53rd Annual Antique & Classic Car Show — August 9
Date: Sunday, August 9, 2026 · 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre, 14732 Woodbine Ave
Cost: FREE
Running since 1973, the community's longest-running family event. Over 400 vintage vehicles, live music, food vendors, museum tours, and children's activities. Only vehicles built in 1990 or earlier compete — newer classics welcome for display.
🌙 Moonlight Madness + 🏖️ Summer Patio Series Finale — August 13

Cost: FREE (both events)
Shop local businesses and explore pop-up vendors along Main Street during Moonlight Madness, then settle in for live music closing out the 2026 Summer Patio Series. A perfect Stouffville summer send-off.
🎬 Movies in the Park — August 14

Location: Memorial Park, 2 Park Drive, Stouffville
Cost: FREE
The second outdoor movie night of the summer. Bring blankets and enjoy the warm August evening at Memorial Park. Feature film to be confirmed at townofws.ca.
🚙 Markham Stouffville Cruisers Motofest — September 12
Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 · 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Memorial Park, 2 Park Drive, Stouffville
Cost: FREE admission
A classic car show hosted by the Markham Stouffville Cruisers, with live entertainment, door prizes, and food trucks. A 50/50 raffle supports mental health services at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
🚒 Fire Department Open House — September 12

Location: Fire Station 5-1, Whitchurch-Stouffville
Cost: FREE
Explore the station, meet the firefighters, and let the kids climb on the trucks. A great free Stouffville activity for families.
🎴 Stouffville Card Show — October 17

Location: Stouffville Leisure Centre
Cost: FREE (food bank donation encouraged)
Browse and trade sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and vintage collectibles with dozens of vendors. Family-friendly, with visitors encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank.
🎃 Halloween on Main — October 31
Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026 · 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Main Street, Stouffville
Cost: FREE
A spooktacular family day in the heart of Stouffville — costumes, activities, and trick-or-treating along Main Street as participating businesses hand out candy while supplies last.
🎄 Stouffville Holiday Market — November 20–21
Dates: Friday, November 20 – Saturday, November 21, 2026
Location: Main Street, Stouffville
Cost: FREE
The town's largest winter event — a local artisan vendor marketplace, festive lighting, live music, food and beverage, and a visit from Santa. Includes the official Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday evening. All ages welcome, on-leash pets okay.
